Privacy Policy

At the Filipino Nurses' Association of Quebec (FNAQ), we value the trust you place in us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, particularly through our use of Zeffy for membership management and donations

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you provide when you sign up for membership, register for events, or donate. This includes:

  • Contact Data: Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.

  • Professional Data: Nursing license status (OIIQ), practice area, and membership category.

  • Transaction Data: Payment details provided during registration or donation.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to support FNAQ’s professional and community mission:

  • To maintain our official membership database.

  • To send newsletters, professional development updates, and event invitations.

  • To process membership dues and issue tax-compliant receipts.

3. Third-Party Service Providers (Zeffy)

To ensure that 100% of your contributions go directly to our mission, FNAQ uses Zeffy, a zero-fee platform for non-profits.

  • Data Handling: When you use our membership or donation forms, your data is collected by Zeffy on our behalf. FNAQ remains the sole owner of this data.

  • Payment Security: All payments are processed securely via Stripe. FNAQ does not see or store your credit card or banking information.

  • Optional Contributions: Zeffy is funded by voluntary tips from users. Any tip you choose to give during checkout goes directly to Zeffy to keep their platform free for non-profits like ours; it is not a fee charged by FNAQ.

4. Disclosure of Information

  • No Selling of Data: FNAQ will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties or telemarketers.

  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to comply with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) or Quebec’s Law 25 regarding data protection.

5. Data Security & Residency

We take reasonable steps to protect your data. Information processed through Zeffy is stored on secure servers located in Canada, ensuring compliance with local data residency expectations.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access & Correction: You may request to see or update the personal information we hold about you.

  • Unsubscribe: You can opt-out of our marketing or informational emails at any time using the "unsubscribe" link or by contacting us.

7. Contact Us
